AI taking over education. Changes?

AI has taken over the world. Atleast that's what we all have been told.

Honestly there is much more nuance to this take. Just like any other take. AI ( Artificial intelligence) has taken over the world. Honestly, it has left people wondering if this is the most game changing human invention of all.

education has been one of the most important aspects in human history. Passing knowledge down from one generation of another was the only way that species have survived. that's another place ai has come in.

i am not talking about the students who copy paste essays in chatgpt ( though we shall be discussing that in another blog post). Honestly, that's something that i dont have research to talk about it in.

Let's talk about education in general. From elementary to Phd

I personally am obsessed with education. I could not imagine my life not finishing my A levels and now waiting for my college application. I must admit i am not the best student and have used claude more than once in my life. it is very satisfying to get the answer to your doubts on ai especially as a homeschooled girlie.

. Liao et al. (2025), Proceedings of ASIS&T — systematic review of 21 studies (2022–2025) argues talks about the generative ai can support academic writing, task planning, emotional regulation and self management. now this has both concerns and positive elements. the positive is that ai is able to help us in integral part of education. However concern is the machine is taking over our emotions. this can point to lack of control students learn in their academic skillset which is something which school was originally designed for.

furthermore, ai has an impact on special education. (Ronksley-Pavia et al. (2025)) tested generative ai on both neurodivergent and neurotypical learners to help build personalize learning profiles for twice exceptional and multiple exceptional neurodivergent students. this study gives us one key feedback as ai helps us to better human teachers who were supporting kids from these diverse profiles. but remember the goal is never to replace the teachers.

Overall AI can be something that can be used in education as an influential support tool. the concern in the matter arises in the overreliance of ai in students. this can be addressed through the encouragement of critical thinking, group activities and continued ban of ai on academic writing. It is important to use ai but not to let it replace you.
