What about the future?

I sit on my bed at night as I write this post. I have school tomorrow and homework, normal teen stuff. But, I seem like a typical teen to the outside world. Just a regular girl attending regular school and having fun with her friends. Or at least that is what people think of me.

And I am. I have the usual worries a kid my age has. About marks, whether people like me, if my homework is done, and so forth. One of the biggest questions that plague me that I'd like to discuss is what about the future?

This is a genuinely complicated question that many of us have to deal with. What about the future?

As a young teen, I constantly worry about my boards, my career, college and whether I will succeed tomorrow. It is expected as, at this point in my life, the future is blurry, and many significant aspects of my life are out of my control.

That is how the world works for most teens. We have the drive to thrive, succeed, to fit in. At least many of us do.

It is a regular worry to have amidst the economic crisis in our world today and the lack of jobs. But sometimes, a small self of mine wondered if college was overrated? Would things would stay the same if you scored les on your 10th board? Could still attend a reputed university with a lesser-than-perfect Gpa. What if you could still do good if you went to a regular college?

I decided to do my own research. I studied and read about the education system extensively. And I realised that perfection was not necessary. While I needed good marks, other skills were essential to developing.

Armed with confidence and after months of researching, I gave myself some slack and stopped presurising myself. While I still worry about marks and care about the future, I should focus on now and not make a big plan for the end.

So my answer to the above questions would be that I have yet to overthink it. We will tackle those when we come there. I will tackle the problems I have now.
